About Gretta

Gretta is certified in the highest levels of Acrobatic Arts and Alixa Flexibility, backed by years of competitive training with the Alberta Ballet School and YYC Dance Project. As the founder of her own dance convention, Excel Dance Experience, she consistently leads sold-out classes and works with dancers committed to elevating their performance. She teaches and choreographs at studios across the province, often sought out by parents and teachers through Instagram for her results-driven training.

Her teaching method is uniquely developed through training alongside a gymnastics coach, blending Acrobatic Arts dancer-specific drills with gymnastics-based technique to create a powerful, safe, and highly effective approach to tumbling.

Her choreography has earned numerous awards and is recognized for its emotionally driven, story-based work. With a background in psychology, she specializes in helping dancers access genuine connection and authenticity in their performance.

Outside of dance, she brings the same passion and drive into all areas of her life. She spent several seasons as a cheerleader for the Calgary Roughnecks and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Honours. She is currently completing a diploma in addictions counselling and will be returning to school in the fall to pursue engineering. She is also deeply passionate about giving back, volunteering on crisis lines and having spent several years supporting individuals through both the Suicide Prevention Hotline and Kids Help Phone. This work has shaped her perspective far beyond dance and continues to influence the empathy and care she brings into every space she teaches in.

She doesn’t just train dancers—she transforms the way they move, perform, and believe in themselves.
